NEOsubstratesDB is a companion app to the publication Shashikadze et al. , intended to enable easy exploration of its neosubstrates data.
The app offers two main views:
- a table providing an overview over the neosubstrate genes that were found, with a summary of the best fold-changes in proteomics and ubiquitinomics experiments over all compounds regulating the gene
- upon selection of a target gene: a detailed view with volcano plots for each compound and experiment for which data is available.
The overview table displays information contained in Table S4 from Shashikadze et al. For more details on how the data was generated, please refer to the publication itself .
To select a gene for closer inspection of the underlying layers of evidence for considering it as a neosubstrate, you can either click on a row in the table or select the gene of interest from the dropdown menu in the sidebar on the left.
Below the table, another view opens, containing a small tab with volcano plots for each compound that met the criteria for being considered a degrader of the selected gene. A volcano plot is shown for each experiment that the currently selected compound was included in. For proteomics experiments, you can compare the gene regulations to the available ubiquitinomics data by clicking on the 'Compare to Ubiquitinomics' button below the respective volcano plot.
When using NEOsubstratesDB and/or the plots provided in this app in your own work, please cite Shashikadze et al. .
When hovering over the card containing the plot or table, an icon will appear in the bottom right corner. Click this icon to expand the plot or table to full screen mode.
Additionally, you can also hide the sidebar on the left by clicking the icon above the sidebar to gain more space for the table and plot.
Use the icon in the top right corner of the card containing the plot to download it in the specified height and width dimensions.
Yes, to switch between light and dark mode, click on the sun/moon icon at the right of the top navigation bar.
